As Paul brings the letter to the Philippians to a close he addresses a specific conflict in their church, reminding us to be unified in our work for the Gospel. He then addresses an issue that often steals our joy - worry. God reminds us through Paul that we can conquer worry by replacing it with prayer. "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything."  When we pray we experience the true peace of God and that peace will help us mind and heart of joy.

    Pressing on toward the goal!

Paul reminds us that the Christian life is much like a race. In this message we look at some things that will help us to run our race well.
    1. Humbly acknowledging that we have not arrived yet, is a starting place.
    2. Devoting ourselves to the race, "forgetting" the past, and keeping our eyes on our goal will help us run well.
    3. Following faithful examples and not following into the traps of others will help us to persevere.
    4. Living in light of our true citizenship will give us the perspective to run in every season.

All is worthless compared to knowing Christ. In this message we see that our confidence must be found in Christ alone and not in ourselves. He alone is the means by which we are saved. Do you know about Jesus or do you really know him?

Through a oddly placed travel itinerary, Paul highlights to examples of faith in the men Timothy and Epaphroditus. They both lived out the challenge giving in the little letter, by living in a way that is worthy of the Gospel by putting the needs of others above their own. The relationship between Timothy and Paul reminds us of the importance of investing in others. Epaphroditus is a wonderful example of God using regular people to advance the Kingdom of God. Are you investing in others? Are you using your gifts for God's glory? Will you press on when things get tough so that God can receive the glory through your life?

When it comes to your faith, are you all in? Together, God's people must show the results of our salvation to a world looking for hope. We are to let our lights shine together as one bright light in a fallen world. We can pour ourselves out as an offering to God by using our gifts together to point others to His love.

    "Have the Attitude of Jesus"

Following the example of Jesus will help us represent Him in this world. Will we work together to point others to Christ as we focus on Him in our own lives? To do this we must set aside our selfish ways and put others before our selves. Is there something we need to turn from so we can focus on Jesus?

    Philippians – Part 4 (1:18-26)
    Series: Philippians
This week, as we continue traveling through the letter to the Philippians, we look at the importance of praying for others.  We also are reminded that, as Christ followers, our life goal should be to honor Jesus with whatever life brings. We see that Paul's perspective in the midst of his dire situation is: To live is Christ, to die is gain. What does this mean? We should regularly ask the question, "How can my current situation be used to bring glory to Christ?" Until we are ready to die, we are not truly ready to live.

People who find joy in all situations are people who focus on what God is accomplishing in the midst of their circumstances. That is why Paul is able to find joy even when finding himself in chains: because Christ is being preached and others are finding courage to share Him as a result. What are you chained to today? Is there a person who is a part of that situation who needs to see Christ in you?

This messages looks at the first eleven verses of this great letter. Paul gives a greeting to ALL at the Philippian church, shares how thankful he is for them and prays that they would grow in love. We explore how allowing others to be our focus can be a source of joy regardless of the situation we find our self in. We also are reminded that loving others can be a source of joy that ultimately brings glory to God.

This is the introductory message to our series through the book of Philippians. We talk about the theme of the book and find that even at the church's beginning, 10 years before the letter was written, Paul was living a lesson of joy found in the midst of suffering. If God is the source of your joy, then your joy can never be taken away from you!

    Colossians 3:16-17 and 3:23, Ephesians 5:15-20, Psalm 90:12, and 2 Peter 3:8-9
This message is the conclusion of our summer long series Better Together. We have looked at the importance of sharing your faith with others, taking personal responsibility to grow in your faith, seen the role we all have to serve others, and looked at how we are created to worship God with our lives. In this final message we are reminded that we must prioritize our time so we can be people who live on mission.

Now that we have established the last two Sundays that worship is more than a service we attend or a song we sing, it is a life that we live; we as a church looked specifically at worship through song. This, like all forms of worship, must be done in both spirit and truth. Are you able to engage your mind around God's truth and also surrender your hearts to Him when you worship?

In view of God's mercy we are called to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. Romans 12 makes this charge as part of a challenge to a church body using their gifts together in order to love others. Could using our gifts be part of the sacrifice the Lord desires as worship?

The slavery of sin. We too have been set free to worship God. What are we allowing to become idols in our lives?

Will we choose to make time for Jesus in the busyness of this life? In this message Jesus reminds us of the one thing worth being concerned about in this life. A thing that will not be taken away from us. Are you serving from an empty reservoir? Consider making it a habit to create space for being still in God's presence so He can fill you up on a regular basis.
